In July 1993, the Director of Fair Trading asked Insurance Companies to clarify consumers' rights under terms of "approved" or "recommended" repairer schemes. Their schemes take the form of a list of garages or a telephone helpline service to put accident victims in touch with a vehicle body repairer with which an insurer who has a specialist relationship.

Despite the Director General's Request, Insurance Policy Holders still remain unaware of their right to have their damages repaired at the garage of their choice, providing the chosen garage operates to industry standards and that repair costs can be satisfactorily agreed.

Q: Why should having an accident that wasn't your fault cause you any inconvenience or out of pocket expenses?

A : IT SHOULDN'T

Radar Claims Management will assist by organising a replacement vehicle whilst arranging for an expert solicitor to provide advice and assistance in seeking compensation for any injuries or out of pocket expenses. We will also arrange for your vehicle repairs to be funded where possible, which is great news if you are only Third-Party insured*. For those who are comprehensively insured, you won't have to fund your insurance excess and your ‘no claims' bonus will not be affected.

Radar Claims Management will assist you during this very often difficult and complicated process. If following the advice of expert solicitors you decide to make a claim, Radar Claims Management can assist in managing the following:

•  Your vehicle repaired at the garage of your choice or by one of our approved commercial partners . No need for two estimates!

•  Replacement vehicle whilst your vehicle is being repaired, including Cars, Vans, Motorcycles and Private Hire vehicles / Taxi's

•  Full legal representation

•  Personal injury claims including all medical costs and prescriptions

•  Loss of earnings and out of pocket expenses

You are legally entitled to the service Radar Claims Management provides after a non-fault accident, regardless of your vehicle insurance. The bill for any replacement vehicle we provide, or the repairs we organise and fund, are sent to the insurance company of the driver who caused the accident/damage.

We will notify your insurance company on your behalf, or ask you to notify them once we have agreed we can help you. They will need to know for information only. The claim is actually against the insurance company of the driver who caused the accident - not yours!

If you suffered injury as a result of the accident you are legally entitled to claim compensation. You may have suffered whiplash, or an even more serious injury. We can manage the process, assess the claim and refer you to expert solicitors who can help ensure you receive the compensation you are due; what's more nothing will be deducted from any money you receive to cover legal costs.

This applies to passengers in your vehicle as well, and claims can still be made for a period of up to three-years after an accident.
